LARGE BRUSH FIRE

 Around 2pm, The Township Companies were dispatched to the rear of 102 Greenbriar for a brush fire in the woods. 632 arrived under the command of Capt. Gary Plotts and reported he had a large brush fire running the hillside down toward Chester Creek which was spreading. The crews from 63 and 72 led off with several hand-lines, Indian tanks, rakes and saws. Tanker and Brush 59, 65-4 and Brush 54 were all special called to assist with the fire in the dense brush and woods. Personnel operated for several hours for extinguishment and wetting down the area. Tanker 59 supplied 632 which supplied Tac 72 while brush units from 65 and 54 operated from the Creek Rd. side of the fire. In all about 2 and 1/2 acers was on fire. The crews operated for 3 hours before returning to service. Chief Dave Evans had the command.
