Mutual Aid Training

Last night for drill, 60 Senior Firefighters and 16 Junior Firefighters from Aston, Brookhaven Fire Co. Station 52 Delco, Pa, Garden City Fire Company #1, and Rocky Run Fire Company gathered together for a joint drill to practice a variety of scenarios and skills.

Senior members spent a total of 4 hours training on: advancing hose lines in large structures, large area search, victim removal, and downed firefighter scenarios. Simultaneously, junior members spent several hours learning basic search and rescue techniques in a different area of the building so that they could build on their skills while not going at the same pace as the senior members.

Thank you to ChristianaCare for allowing us to use this structure as these training opportunities are invaluable to our department as most of our training is scenario based and we do not get many opportunities to run these scenarios while doing the actual functions of breaching walls, dragging charged handlines and working in large areas with our mutual aid companies.
